Continuity Group Systems & Training
We help teams strengthen the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of their group-based treatment services
About Us
Continuity Group Systems & Training helps behavioral health programs strengthen the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of their group-based treatment services. Our focus is on developing skilled, reflective group facilitators and helping programs create cultures that support their growth.
Our services are designed to support substance use disorder and co-occurring treatment programs across PHP, IOP, and outpatient levels of care.
Continuity is led by David Adam, LSW, LCADC, and CCS, who brings extensive experience facilitating and developing group-based treatment services within substance use disorder and co-occurring treatment settings.
David’s work has focused on group dynamics; process-oriented, psychoeducational, and skill-building facilitation; curriculum implementation; trauma-informed care; and fostering critical clinical thinking through peer consultation, collaboration, and reflective discussion of group process, interventions, and clinical decision-making.
The Challenge
Many treatment programs rely heavily on group services, yet facilitators are often expected to lead complex clinical groups with limited opportunities for mentorship, observation, skill development, and ongoing professional growth.
As a result, programs may experience:
Significant differences in facilitator skill and confidence
Inconsistent implementation of curriculum and interventions
Challenges with onboarding and developing new staff
Limited opportunities for facilitator mentorship and growth
Clinical variability between groups and facilitators
Difficulty creating a cohesive group culture across levels of care
Our Approach
Continuity is designed to help programs strengthen facilitator competency, clinical consistency, mentorship structures, and overall group effectiveness.
Rather than focusing solely on one-time trainings, this approach emphasizes relationship-building, observation, consultation, mentorship, modeling, and facilitator development over time.
Services may include:
Group facilitator training and skill development
Observation and feedback on group facilitation
Clinical consultation regarding group process and intervention strategies
Development of facilitator clinical thinking and case conceptualization
Mentorship of developing facilitators and group leaders
Enhancement and integration of existing group curricula
Consultation regarding group culture, communication, and continuity across levels of care
Development of internal leaders capable of mentoring and supporting future facilitators
Areas of Focus
Group engagement and participation
Group dynamics and process
Trauma-informed facilitation
Experiential and process-oriented group work
Evidence-informed intervention integration
Facilitator confidence and clinical judgment
Clinical flexibility and decision-making
Cohesive group programming across PHP, IOP, and outpatient settings
Our Vision
The long-term goal of Continuity is to help treatment programs become environments where exceptional group facilitators are developed, supported, and retained.
Success is measured not by dependence on an outside consultant but by a program's ability to sustain a culture of facilitator development, mentorship, clinical excellence, and continuous growth long after the engagement has ended.
